Yasmine Brown - St. Josephy HS | Indianola: Teen Advice Program (Tap): Reach out to teens that do not have stable support systems via a mobile app called TAP. Show teens that they are not alone and do not need to self-harm. Aly Gomez - South Jones HS | Ellisville: My New Home/Mi Nuevo Hogar: Help develop relationships between native Spanish speaking students and English speaking students in a safe, supportive space where they can share language and culture. Marcus Leigh - Grenada HS | Grenada: Grenada Youth & Young Adult Organization (GYYAO): Create a safe space for middle and high school students of various backgrounds to gain fun and informative community building experiences in Grenada. Fredrick Tidwell - Grenada HS | Grenada: Grenada Youth Council (GYC): Work with Grenada youths to identify, address, and engage with issues effecting their community through peer-led activities. Tatiana Burgess - Starkville HS | Starkville: Safe-Spaced: Provide a safe space/support group for teenage girls aged 13-15 and to boost confidence and healthy self-esteem. Ian Ammentorp - Bay HS | Bay Saint Louis: Litterally Clean: Restore local beaches, raise awareness of they're current condition, and create a stronger community within the Gulf Coast Mississippi region. Rachel Kennedy - Pass Christian Public HS | Pass Christian: Litterally Clean: Restore local beaches, raise awareness of they're current condition, and create a stronger community within the Gulf Coast Mississippi region. Andres Flores - Vardaman HS | Vardaman: Change for a Better Future: Teach 5th and 6th grade students the values of staying in school and the consequences of dropping out through regular meetings and mentorship. Coralyn Jones - St. Joseph Catholic School | Jackson: Kidz Zone: A safe space where students may engage with each other through arts, science, sports. Provide an outlet in their community where students may escape negative aspects of their community. Sydni Mahaffey - Germantown HS | Madison: Kidz Zone: A safe space where students may engage with each other through arts, science, sports. Janice Citchens - West Tallachatchie HS | Tutwiler: Build Your Own College Fund (BYOCF): Prepare high school students financially and morally through monthly fundraisers, sponsorships, and community service events. Angella Osinde - Mississippi School for Mathematics and Science | Starkville: Enviroclub: Transform the Golden Triangle Region (Starkville, Columbus, West Point) into a cleaner/greener environment by raising awareness around recycling and creating recycling receptacles for each community's respective high school. Brianna Cry - St. Josephy Catholic School | Jackson: A Different World: Provide younger students with a solid knowledge of African American history and culture and a safe space to talk about their problems. Morgan Grey - West Point HS | West Point: Kenect-Ed: Connection the Community Through Education: Bring together the many different communities in West Point through monthly meetings where they'll be able to work together despite their differences. William Paul Ellis - Starkville HS | Starkville: College Connection: Connecting Starkville High School Students with High Education: connect Starkville High School students to institutions throughout the region, but also to resources that will help them apply and enroll at their desired school. After being contacted, these institutions will have the option of sending information to the school, or sending a representative for a school wide college fair. Loran Lawson - Amory HS | Amory: Respect the Mind: provide high school teachers the tools to help students suffering from emotional distress. Shelby Maynor - Baldwyn HS | Guntown: Beyond Baldwyn: “A Community Helping Communities”: Beyond Baldwyn is a group of students from Baldwyn High School wanting to travel to other communities to make a difference. This group will complete community service projects in surrounding communities and beyond. Janson Nabors - Tupelo HS | Tupelo: Helping Hands of Mississippi: Engage fourth-seventh grade students to help them become more involved in their communities through community service. Tyler Ellis - Columbus HS | Columbus: Young Tongues: Creating Bridges Between Communities: Teach students a second language to broaden their comprehension, vocabulary, writing, cognitive functions and respect of other cultural traditions. Zach Riley - Greenwood HS | Greenwood: Leflore County Youth Council: Provide students in GPS and LCSD the benefit of having a voice in their communities and local schools. Empower students to seek understanding of issues facing their school systems. Maria Teresa Sanchez - South Pontotoc HS | Pontotoc: Making a Change/Haciendo un Cambio: Teach non-English speaking people of all ages English so that they may have access to better job opportunities. Gabi Jones - Clinton HS | Clinton: Break Your Box: A peer-led program designed to help LGBTQ+ students deal with anxiety/depression, identify ways to cope with stress, and find potential and purpose in their lives. Kameron Simmons - Jim Hill HS | Jackson: Jackson Uplifting Motivational Program (JUMP): Provide a positive influence in the lives of middle school students by pairing them with high school mentors from their high schools. Jacori Daniels - Raymond HS | Raymond: The Sling Shot Club (SSC): SSC is a student-led tutoring/remediation program for Raymond HS students. Through peer-to-peer tutoring and interaction, students will raise their grades and feel comfortable participating in classes. Savannah Washington - Raymond HS | Raymond: The Sling Shot Club (SSC): SSC is a student-led tutoring/remediation program for Raymond HS students. Through peer-to-peer tutoring and interaction, students will raise their grades and feel comfortable participating in classes. Kim Scott - Clarksdale HS | Clarksdale: Building a Team with Teens: A youth-led afterschool program for middle and high school students in Clarksdale that addresses youth violence and provides tutoring.
